About Our Congregation

Ambler Church of the Brethren is a vibrant family of faith seeking together to learn more about Jesus and live out his example of love. We welcome all individuals who desire to join us on this journey.

This is what some of our members and friends have to say about this faith community...

"I like fellowship time. We go out in the hallway and play games." - Caleb, second-grader

"I look forward to going to my church every Sunday because it's like a big family. I get my strength when I talk to people from my church." - Nancy, member of ACOB for four years

"I like that I play in Sunday school, and that my friends are in it and that I never get bored." - Tessa, 4-year-old

"In a world of fear, conflict and violence, we try to promote another way of living." - Al, lifelong member of Church of the Brethren.

"We learn about God." - Kylie, second-grader

The Church of the Brethren

Our demonination has its roots in both the Anabaptist and Pietist traditions. The Church of the Brethren traces its beginnings to Alexander Mack and seven others who were baptized in the Eder River in Schwarzenau, Germany in 1708. The Church of the Brethren has no written creed other than the New Testament. Basic tenets of the denomination include: believer's baptism, service to others, commitment to fostering peace and dedication to continuing the work of Jesus.
